Trained chefs are supposed to be good cooks

Trained chefs are supposed to be good cooks, but I have had lousy meals at famous restaurants. I have also had five-star meals in friends' homes. My friend served to us pork tenderloin, Napa cabbage slaw, sourdough bread, chocolate chip cookies, plus chocolate souffle. With that simple dinner, I have experienced the most exquisite meal I have ever had.

What are the features of a good cook?

A good cook is able to comprehend recipes. Before the cook starts to prepare a recipe he or she reads it all the way through. The cook is familiar with cooking abbreviations, terms, as well as he / she does the recipe detail by detail. When the cook already understands the recipe, he / she could possibly alter it a bit to fit individual preferences.

A good cook can use equipment. The cook can use a mixer, food processor, blender, immersion blender, grill pan, and other appliances. The cook also knows different kitchen equipments including whisk, melon baller and mircoplane.

A good cook is an expert of the fundamental strategies. He or she is familiar on how to saute, poach, braise, steam, grill, shallow fry, stir fry, and as well microwave the food. How to make a white sauce, good chili recipes, thicken sauces with flour and cornstarch, beat egg whites, and temper eggs are the additional methods that the cook knows.

A good cook makes use of fresh ingredients. Refreshing fruits and vegetable are the beginning point when it comes to meals. The cook buys fresh fish and flavorful cuts of meat.

A good cook hones knives. A dull knife is a dangerous knife, as what the saying goes. To relate to this, a good cook can carefully care for knives by way of keeping them sharp and as well storing them safely.

A good cook practices food safety. He or she properly washes his or her hands prior to touching and preparing the food. Separate cutting boards are used for meat and chicken and washed well after use. Cold food is kept really cold and hot food is refrigerated promptly after a meal.

A good cook plans interesting menus. Some cooks prepare recipes from one culture, while others prepare recipes from many. Every aspect of the meal will then fit together like an amazing puzzle.

A good cook can make simple stuff perfectly. Making rich coffee, tasty soup, and fluffy scrambled eggs are the things that only a good cook can do. Even though the cook can make difficult recipes, he or she also performs extremely well in basic things.

A good cook keeps the kitchen tidy. My mother told me this when I was a teenager and I have never forgotten it.

Love is always added by a good cook. Whether it is the first ingredient or last, a cook's love is what makes food so delicious.
